NO! Many believe you need experience when kayaking on our section of the Clinch and this is not the case. Our workers will help you in the river and will cover how to operate the kayak if no previous experience.
Wear something you do not mind to get wet in (bathing suit, t-shirt/shorts) and river shoes are highly recommended! Bring sunscreen, drinks, towels, and a smiling face! We suggest NOT to bring your phone.
If it rains on the day of your reservation then we will contact you about a later time/day to reschedule according to the weather. If you have already paid and do not want to reschedule, you will be refunded
We HIGHLY recommend making reservations. We are usually booked days in advance during our summer months. Reservations are required for large groups in order to accommodate. If you decide to walk-in, we will try our best to fit you in but cannot make any promises.
We require all tubing participants to be at least 3 years old. If you are under the age 13, life jackets are required. For kayakers, we suggest participants to be around 7 years of age.
The weight limit is 300 pounds for single kayaks. For tandem kayaks, the limit is 450 pounds total. The weight limit for tubing is 275.
We offer both sit-on and sit-in kayaks. Most of our Jackson Kayaks are sit-on, while our Old Town Kayaks are sit-in. There is not much of a difference in terms of which is easier. It is really based on preference. We do offer a limited supply of tandem kayaks (2 person kayaks).
St. Paul Park offers two public bathrooms which can also be used for changing. One is located in the middle of the playground and the other is behind the stage at the end of the park.
You can park at our location at the red caboose in St. Paul Park. Worried about what to do with your keys? Don't worry, we can keep them for you while you hit the water!
Yes! We offer float-able coolers for you to place your personal cooler in. Tubes also come with a drink holder. Please do not litter our beautiful river and be respectful!
Nope. This is a self-guided experience. There is no reason to worry about getting loss, but feel free to ask us questions if you are not comfortable.
Some sections of the river are deeper than others, but it does not get any deeper than 5ft. This section of the Clinch is very calm with very mild rapids (kayaking only). Some say its the best part of the trip! This all depends on water level. For tubers, you will only experience small rapids at the end of the trip.
